MacBook Air vs. MacBook Pro: Which Should You Buy?

Apple is known for its great products such as the Macbook pro and Macbook air – not to mention the Ipad and the Iphone. However they have really confused their customers this time with the various Macbook models. So one of the questions we hear a lot is – which is better the Macbook air or Macbook pro?

Previously if you wanted a Macbook – you had one choice – the original Macbook. No w there are 11 inch, 13inch Macbook pro and macbook air, 15 and 17 inch pro. The decision is no longer an easy one.

While the best choice depends on each individual’s circumstance , it is important to clearly understand what each features and pros and cons are. So how much do you care about weight, about Firewire support, about an SD card slot ? These are some of the factors that will affect your decision.
You also have to look at price- the Macbook Air is cheaper than Macbook Pro. But you have to ask if the difference in price- about 20%- will affect your decision to buy one or the other. For us we think that the Pro is worth the extra features – but this has to do with our needs.

For the day to day use – such as browsing the Internet and checking email , or chatting – the differences between Pro and AIR will not be discernible. However if you want to do more heavy lifting, such as flash games, and graphics then you will notice the difference. It is also important to know that you can upgrade the Air and equip it with some of the features that come with the Macbook pro. However you will need to pay a little more for it. Also there is no need to wait for the next upgrade before purchasing as there will still be other updates after that. Either the Macbook Air or Pro make for great gifts this holiday season .
